WHY DOES THE WAVE TIME I WANT COST MORE? (WHAT IS THE WAVE SELECTION FEE?)
The purpose of this fee is to enhance participant safety, control capacity, and improve the flow of the event. When a wave time is popular and filling up with more people, the size of that wave is controlled by the fact that the price of that wave increases. If you’d like to avoid the wave selection fee you may select a less popular wave. No matter what wave you choose, we know you’ll have a great time! Thank you for joining us.
CAN I TRANSFER MY TICKET TO ANOTHER PERSON, RACE, WAVE, ETC?
We can assist you with transferring your tickets to another person or race location! There is a $40 per transfer fee, so please try to get all correct information before signing up! Transferring to a new wave time will depend on availability and any applicable fees.
WHAT IS TOP TEAM? THE LARGEST TEAM WINS!
Rejoice Fest Top Team is the team with the most registered participants at each venue. The Top Team gets additional benefits leading up to race day and at the event, including: recognition on social media, announcements at the race, a Top Team tent to cool off under, and more!
The Top Team must have a minimum of 15 participants on the team, and only one Top Team will be chosen at every race.
CAN I CHANGE MY TEAM NAME/CREATE A TEAM AFTER I'VE REGISTERED?
Unfortunately, we are unable to change your team name or add you to an already created team once you have completed registration.
HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU NEED FOR A TEAM?
There are no minimum or maximum requirements for teams! You can have as few or as many people as you’d like on your team! Want to run by yourself? No problem! You don’t need to select or create a team to register for the race.
CAN I VOLUNTEER FOR THE RACE?
We would LOVE for you to volunteer with us! It takes a lot of helping hands to make sure that the event runs smoothly. If you are signing up a group to volunteer, please do not use the comment box to tell us how many people are in your group. Each member’s information must be entered separately and individual waivers must be filled out and signed in order to be assigned to a volunteer shift.
CAN I RUN THE RACE PREGNANT?
We’d love to have you join us, but we aren’t licensed health professionals. We suggest that you do not participate in the obstacle race if your are pregnant or could be pregnant. We also strongly suggest that you ask your doctor before participating!
HOW COMPETITIVE IS REJOICE FEST?
Rejoice Race is as competitive as you make it. Runners at our events come from all different athletic (or non-athletic!) backgrounds. Participants generally fall into one of two categories: easygoing weekend warriors out to enjoy the event and challenge themselves or fierce competitors trying to win against the clock.
Competitive or not, all participants are encouraged to help each other complete the race course. That’s what makes it so fun!
IS THERE A TIME LIMIT?
Participants have three hours from the start of the last wave to complete the course. For example, if the last wave of the day is 1:00 pm you will have until 4:00 pm to complete the course. If you started at 10:00 am you will still have until 4:00 pm to finish. If you haven’t completed the course by the designated event cutoff time our medical staff will be forced to pull you from the course.
Three hours gives you enough time to walk the entire course at a fairly leisurely 22-minute mile pace. If you think you need more time, write to us and we will accommodate you for an earlier start!
CAN I SKIP OBSTACLES?
Yes.
Rejoice is not a race, nor is it about getting a better time than other competitors, so it’s fine by us if you want to skip an obstacle. The way we see it, you are there to have fun and challenge yourself. If you think a particular obstacle really isn’t for you, just go around it – without a penalty or shame.
Anyone who is at risk (due to medical concerns) or cannot swim (and would have a difficult time in water) is strongly advised to skip these obstacles, as safety is held at a premium at Rejoice. Please speak with a doctor before coming to Rejoice Obstacle race, as they can evaluate your specific circumstances.
WILL THERE BE SHOWERS?
All participants will have the opportunity to hose down after finishing the course, as well as a changing area to change into a new set of clothes that aren’t covered in mud. There will be showers and changing tents available at every Rejoice event.
WHAT IF IT RAINS OR SNOWS ON RACE DAY?
Our race is a rain or shine event. We’re like postmen here. No rain, nor sleet, nor snow will keep us from racing hard and rejoicing like crazy at our after party!!
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Bring the following items:
Driver’s license
Photo ID or Student/Military ID
Participant Waiver or Spectator Waiver (please read, initial, and sign in advance)
Know your bib number and wave time. You’ll receive an email from us about a week before your event with this information and other important race-day details.

A great attitude! We expect participants to encourage and help each other through the course.

DOES REJOICE FEST BENEFIT A CHARITY?
We work with many different charitable organizations and community groups.
WHAT KIND OF SHOES SHOULD I WEAR?
As you may or may not know, proper footwear can make or break your performance. Many times folks are seen finishing a race with at least one missing shoe, probably not ideal for rough terrain. I’ve also seen competitors attempting to conquer the David and Goliath wall with no success due to lack of shoe traction. Therefore, it is extremely important to find proper footwear that allows you to successfully navigate the dynamic terrains of obstacle races. Some shoe types you might want to check out are Vibram Five Fingers, specific trail running shoes, there are many brands but New Balance does make a pair, cross country flats and good old running shoes. At the end of the day it is important to wear what is comfortable for you!
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Normal running clothes, but keep in mind that you will get wet during the Rejoice Race. Also, some of our events include a swim, so bring goggles and wear clothing with minimal drag.
CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD OR ALCOHOL?
No. You are not allowed to bring your own food or alcohol on-site. If you have small children or have a dietary concern, you will be allowed to bring your own small snacks. This is the only exception. There will be no alcohol available for sale or consumption at Rejoice events.
WHAT IS THE REQUIRED SWIMMING LEVEL?
Rejoice recommends that all participants possess basic swimming fundamentals and be skilled to not only tread water but also prepared to swim a minimum distance of 25-30 feet. Also, we suggest that persons with limited swimming ability to bypass the deep water parts of the course, as basic swimming skills are essential for the safe completion of these obstacles. You will be able to continue on the course with your team, even if you skip an obstacle.
WHAT MEDICAL CARE IS AVAILABLE AT REJOICE EVENTS?
Rejoice has a fully operational and staffed field emergency medical tent at all of our events. The medical tent is run by an expert team of medical practitioners working in close partnership with local emergency departments and EMS providers. This field emergency medical tent provides advanced field medical care and can stabilize any injury which may occur onsite.
ARE THERE BATHROOMS AT REJOICE? ON THE COURSE?
Yes, Rejoice will have bathrooms in the base area before/after the event, as well as offer stations along the course where participants can use if needed. This will be available at all Rejoice events.
